Government Manufacturing

For over 50 years Oregon Freeze Dry has been providing specialized meals to various branches of the U.S. Government. Beginning with the U.S. Military in 1966, spanning to NASA, the Apollo Mission and Skylab, to assisting municipal governments prepare for emergency disasters and their relief efforts.

Military

We trace our roots to meals we made for the United States Special Forces. During the Vietnam Conflict we started making freeze-dried food as Long Range Patrol rations for the military. We’ve continued making food for the United States Special Forces and other branches of the military ever since. OFD has also had the privilege of working with NASA. In the 1960s, we started supplying freeze-dried food for simulated space missions and successfully sent our products into space on the Apollo missions, Skylab and joint U.S.-Russian space ventures.

Emergency Preparedness

We’ve worked with numerous disaster volunteer organizations (VOAD) active in disaster planning; counties and municipalities; utility companies; and fire and police departments are just some of the types of organizations we serve.

Many of these organizations are the first responders when a disaster strikes. During a disaster, it’s essential to have nutritious, great-tasting, and easy to make food on hand — not only to provide adequate nutrition to those affected, but also to offer a sense of comfort during a traumatic time. We’re happy to create a customized B2B solution to meet your government agency’s needs.
